SAHALE ECO VILLAGE

The EcoVillage at Sahale is a growing project and collaborative living experience where tested principles of permaculture, community growth and human development are being implemented.
Our EcoVillage is inspired by the sacred 68 acres of beauty,
infused with the devotion & creativity of an experienced community culture.
Dreams are being realized & resources preserved by this village of supporters.

permaculture applied

Over 10 years in development, Sahale is a permaculture demonstration site and education center.  It is also the home to a “village” of

experienced communitarians who share their wisdom and offer training in living an intentional life for self-improvement and social

creativity and governance. Leaders of all kinds are supported and encouraged here. Collaboration and organization is a feature of our

learning together. Our culture honors the arts of all kinds and enjoys seasonal celebrations and traditions, work parties, birthdays and a lifestyle infused with mindful practices.

An Ongoing Journey

An Ongoing Journey

As a community we gather annually on
Memorial Day for a work party.

Men, women and children come to work on the land. It is a grand spring cleaning. We tend our forest, our paths, river needs, build new projects, focus gardens and growth. What a fun long weekend we have. At the end, we celebrate together with a excellent bonfire to address our slash pile. With respect to the Earth, a safety-first attitude and intentional wisdom... we gather for the blaze, rest, commune and witness. All the elements are present. Earth. Air. Water and Fire, as we sit under the stars and moon.

We use the ashes to feed our gardens and the land. We deeply honor the full circle nature of life, death, rebirth.

It is the beauty way.

SEEKING OTHERS

The Ecovillage at Sahale is looking for interns and potential residents for longer term engagement.  We are looking for people with interest in learning and growing and in communitarian living.  We both desire to pass on what we are learning and to have skilled friends join the village. Our emphasis on growing good people as well as caring for the land, means that as a visitor, a resident or an intern, learning experiments are going on and evolving.
